Lets see, 5 years ago today I was sitting at home. I was in a wheelchair because about a month before I had crushed my heel bones. But I was in the living room and my dad was flipping through the channels on the TV and all of a sudden we tuned in right at the time the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower. For the rest of the entire day I was glued to the TV watching everything that was going on.
All I could think at the time was, "What is happening in my country?" I have been living in a country that is supposed to be untouchable by anyone, a place I am supposed to feel safe, to know I can do anything my mind imagines.
So the falling of the towers was an awakening to me to know we are touchable, but now 5 years later I look back and can take this and apply it to my spiritual life. Just because I live for God, and do his will does not mean that satan will not try to touch me, of course, he can not touch me unless I let him, but that means I must always keep my guard up and never think that I am better than anyone else.
We are all servants, Jesus had a different way of thinking. Our humanity would tell us that in order to get into heaven first we much be above everyone else, but Jesus had a different way of thinking, when we lay down our lives for his sake, we will gain that eternal life. Oh but preacher, we do need to be the best we can to enter heaven. True, we must do our best, but if we ever fall to the snares of the devil and start thinking that we are better than everyone else then right there, at that point, we fail. We can never loose the mentality of a servant.
Back to 9/11, my sympathies go with all the families and friends of the victims of 9/11. I am proud to be in this country and I give honor to all those over seas fighting right now.
God Bless You All!
Yours in Christ!
